A Moment In Time

I was out hiking with the kiddos the other day.  We had ventured through the woods and were crossing a large, open cornfield.  It was cold, but the air was refreshing.  As we were halfway across the cornfield, it began to rain.  My instant thought was that of dread and get the kids home before they were soaked.  As the kids walked on, I stopped in my tracks.  I stood still and just listened.  I took a deep breath and at that moment in time, everything in my body shifted including my thoughts.  I immediately connected to Nature's rhythm.  I listened to the ice droplets of frozen rain hitting against the dried grass in the field.  I could smell the rich scent of the mud from the softening Spring ground.  The birds continued their song experiencing no worry of the sudden change in weather.  A smile came across my face.  My heart was now at complete ease and I continued my morning hike in peace.  Just a moment in time and my perspective changed.

Most likely, now more than ever, there will be times when we find ourselves faced with feelings of worry, fear, anxiety, confusion, anger, resentment.  These moments tend to get us and our bodies stuck in these uncomfortable feelings.  If you should find yourself in a challenging or painful situation, I encourage you to stop, take a deep breath and turn yourself around.  Literally and physically, turn your body around in a circle and give your body a shake.  You may feel a bit lighter.  You may feel a bit more Love in your heart.  When a perspective is filled with a bit more Love, watch how it transforms.  As your perspective is transformed by Love, pay attention to how your body feels.

When I finished writing, I went to tuck my daughter in bed.  She enjoys drawing.  She usually draws horses or wolves.  Sometimes from the front, other times from the side view.  This time, as I looked at her drawing. I noticed she had drawn a wolf from behind......a different perspective!

So, when you find yourself in a challenging moment, feel it, experience it, follow it through and then do your best to hear the birds SING!
Happy Spring!

Shake yourself and turn around, hear the sweet sounds of life all around!

Wishing you the best in health and happiness,
Debbie
